In 2008, with the guidance of the YLD leadership, created a special giving category called the “Young Lawyer Legacy.” The legacy gift was designed to encourage young lawyers to donate $25 per month.
In 2011, the YLD and the Foundation initiated a special campaign under the umbrella of the YLL. The campaign, Each One Reach One, was designed to not only provide a dedicated avenue for young lawyers to give, but also to encourage their peers to support the Foundation. A special component of the Each One Reach One project was giving back – 25% of all campaign proceeds will be equally divided among Children’s Chance, Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands, Special Olympics and The Cooperative Ministry.
Though Each One Reach One has concluded, the Foundation encourages young lawyers to continue to participate in the YLL. If a young lawyer would like to participate in the YLL, but cannot meet the original $25 per month goal, please contact Shannon Willis Scruggs for alternatives. We want to get you involved!

"I support the SC Bar Foundation because it is the core of what our profession is about – service. Anything that I can do to help make a difference for others with legal problems is my honor."

“I like knowing my YLL pledge supports both the public service mission of the YLD and the charitable goals of the SC Bar Foundation.” C. Tyson Nettles |

“The Bar Foundation attacks the root causes of our state’s problems in ways few other organizations can. Its influence reaches juvenile justice, domestic abuse, homeless issues and many other areas. It makes every dollar go very far, and that’s why I support the Foundation.” -

"As young members of the SC Bar what better way can we give back to the community than contributing to our own Foundation, while at the same time benefiting the programs we all hold dear through the YLD? It is my privilege to be a part of the YLL." Amy Landers May |
